2D Platform Game

Although being a game that I only made in second year of college and having many, many unpolished/unfinished aspects, '9 Floors Down' is still a project that I hold close to my heart. Partly because it was the first project that I was genuinely proud of and partly because there are some parts that genuinely make me smile and which I would like to expand on in the future.

As for the problems, there's an obvious lack of polish [I.e. no UI outside of the main menu, plants being used in place of any type of teleporter asset] there being no music or sound effects and the gameplay loop about having to touch a deceased demons head within 10 seconds not being polished enough to really be fun or intuitive [for example a 'get out of hell' pass doesn't appear on the enemy, the enemies don't have any running away AI and the heads of the enemies can fall off the platforms meaning that the player will have to fail the level]

However there is a lot that 19 year old me did get right [or at least did interestingly] such as the main loop could work with a larger level or more complex AI, I'm still impressed by the variety of three enemies and how they pose very different hazards to the player.
